What does the Interview English Skills Test check?
The test checks the English you need to answer interview questions well: choosing the right tense to talk about past experience, using clear professional vocabulary, and structuring an answer so the interviewer can follow it. A job interview in English is not the same as everyday conversation. You need to describe your experience clearly, give examples with results, and sound confident and professional, often under time pressure.
It takes about six minutes: 10 questions, no sign-up, and an instant result with explanations, so you can see why each answer is right or wrong.
Why do interview English skills matter?
Many candidates have the right experience but lose marks because their answers are too vague, too long or too general. Interviewers listen for specific examples, clear results and confident language. Strong interview English skills help you show what you have actually done, rather than leaving the interviewer to guess.
This matters even more when you are a non-native speaker. Small language choices, such as saying "we" when the interviewer wants to know what you did, or using the wrong tense for a past achievement, can make a strong candidate sound less convincing than they are.
Who is the test for?
- Professionals preparing for a job interview in English
- Candidates applying to international companies or roles abroad
- Anyone who wants an honest picture of how their English will come across in an interview
